If you know me you know I love curlBOX and I absolutely admire Myleik Teele and the brand she has built over the past 3 years. Just like many, I also consider her a distant mentor in my head, listening to podcasts, reading books she suggest, etc. Earlier this week curlBOX announced the nominees for their first EVER curlBOX Awards and I’m SO excited I was nominated! If you would have asked me 7 months ago when I started blogging if I thought I would be nominated for an award I surely would have laughed. My nomination for the “One The Come Up” curlBOX Award definitely took me by surprise as someone extremely new to the world of blogging. And call me crazy but I keep thinking to myself “How did this happen?”. However, I am now convinced when you have a passion for something it is hard to contain and the passion shines through for others to see.
I started Textured Talk as an avenue to express my thoughts about my love for not just natural hair but all topics hair related. If there is something I could talk about all day and for free…hair is one of them. That’s when I knew I had something special and I wanted to share with everyone else. I definitely appreciate each person who takes time out of their busy day to click on my articles and scroll through Textured Talk.
I love all of the other bloggers in my category and I have watched their YouTube videos to recreate styles and have double tapped numerous Instagram pictures from their accounts. Check them out as well…they are great! It’s an honor to be in a category with all of them.
