Most people would probably think I am exaggerating if I said investing in a hair steamer for my natural hair has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my natural hair.

But…I kid you not, the benefits of deep conditioning with a steam treatment are endless.  So today, I’m going to give you 5 reasons you should invest in a hair steamer for natural hair.

Helps with Porosity

It is no secret that mild heat helps to open the hair cuticle for deep conditioning.  If you have low porosity hair steaming will benefit your strands greatly helping to infuse additional moisture your hair, also increasing how your hair retains moisture over time.

Improves Elasticity

Additional moisture means better manageability for detangling.  If your hair is dry and brittle upon touching weekly steam treatments will help to improve your protein/moisture balance.  Improved elasticity will also equate to stronger hair with curls that spring back into place when stretched, which leads me to the next reason…
